Second Group of Teachers from Harbin Vocational & Technical College Goes to Zambia to Provide Educational Assistance

At 14 pm (local time) on September 5, 2017, Zambia—“The Training Class of Metal Fabrication Technique in NFCA” was started in working staff’s classroom, which marked the initiation of working staff training program in Zambia.

Chen Zhimin, vice general manager of NFCA, Liang Chimin, person in charge of vocational education program in Zambia and all the Chinese teachers and trainees from Zambia attended this opening ceremony hosted by Mr. Liang. The group providing this training was composed of five teachers including our teachers and teachers from other three higher vocational colleges in China.  

Lin Kai, the teacher from Harbin Vocational & Technical College represented all the Chinese teachers to deliver a speech, in which, he hoped the trainees could take this training seriously to study hard so that they would improve their professional skills. And he hoped the working staff who attended this training program could combine theory and practice and adopt what they have learned to good use.

Chen Zhimin, vice general manager of NFCA, proposed requirements for the local working staff in his speech that he emphasized the importance and urgency of developing vocational education training. He required that the trainees should listen attentively, follow the arrangements, ask more and practice more to improve their own comprehensive quality and professional skills.

The training contents are determined and discussed by all the teachers through on-field investigation to enterprises, which contain theories and practical training on wielding. The teachers took consideration of Zambian national condition, requirements of local enterprises and levels of working staff when they made the teaching contents, which are of great importance and pertinence.

All the teaching materials and PPTs are translated into English and teachers get together to prepare teaching contents. In the teaching process, the lecturer is in charge of teaching the contents and one assistant takes responsibility of answering questions and translating in ways that effectively improve classroom efficiency and reduce the working burdens. This training program is another try of great importance for Chinese vocational education going globe, providing valuable experiences for cultivating a teachers’ team with international teaching capabilities and developing international teaching.
