Teachers from Harbin Vocational & Technical College Pays a Visit to Lusaka to Have In-field Investigations

 

September 22-25, local time in Zambia-Lin Kai and Sun Huimin went to Zambia-China Economic Cooperation Zone in Lusaka to conduct investigation and study, through which, they would know more about  national condition of Zambia, raise awareness of developing vocational education to provide educational assistance and better serve the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

This activity consisted of four contents. First, they paid a visit to starting station in Zambian route of Tanzania-Zambia railway. The length of Tanzania-Zambia railway is 1860.5 kilometers, whose eastern end is Dar Es Salaam of Tanzania and western end is Capie Lim Posey in the middle of Zambia. It was established in 1970 and completed in 1976. Tanzania-Zambia railway provided a new channel to Zambia, Maryville and inland countries, a monument representing China-Africa friendship. It has witnessed the deep friendship among China, Tanzania and Zambia.


Second, the teachers toured around Zambia-China Economic Cooperation Zone (ZCCZ) in Lusaka.  ZCCZ was the first economic cooperation zone in Africa by China and also was the first multi-functional economic zone established by Zambian government. It was developed, constructed, operated and managed by China Nonferrous Metals Group and remained committed to developing it into the best trade and investment platform in Africa. ZCCZ has two zones, one in Chambishi and the other one in Lusaka. The Lusaka Zone has a total area of 5.7 square kilometers, with more than thirty enterprises funded by Chinese investment involving mining, smelting, medicine, building materials, agriculture, animal husbandry and daily necessities among other sectors.
