Zhan Hengkui, who graduated from Dalian Jiaotong University in 1995, majored in welding. He has been engaged in the technical management of steel structure in Anshan Iron and Steel Construction Group Co., Ltd.. He has obtained the qualifications of first-class Architecture, registered safety engineer, international welding surveyor CWI, International Welding Engineer IWE and other qualifications, with two scientific research achievements including “One kind of welding frame”, “A kind of bend pipe device” and “Preheating method of welding H type steel” and other scientific and research results having laid a solid foundation for him to go internationalized.

Zhan Hengkui is not only skilled in technology, but also able to speak English fluently. There is no obstacle to negotiate, communicate and conduct technical communication with foreigners. In 2011, the company contracted the largest overseas project in the steel structure- the Australian Karara Project. The total steel structure is eighteen thousand tons. At the stage of technical preparation, he led the technical group to compile more than ten thousand words and technological documents, optimized the technological management process according to the requirements of the foreign party, realized the form management, carried out 22 welding process tests (PQR), and compiled more than 40 welding process guidance books (WPS). He conducted trainings and examinations for 180 welders. 

Karara strictly examined the items in accordance with more than 70 sub items of the audit list and approved all of it after signing, then the company got the working license. Karara management team asked the products to carry out quality acceptance according to the international standards that they were familiar with. Zhan Hengkui succeeded in convincing them to carry out quality acceptance according to China's quality standards after he compared a dozen international standards and the national standards.Since the project is designed by the Australian standard, many materials are not in conformity with the national standard. He compared the domestic materials with their indexes, carried out the transformation of the national standards, and carried out the specification of more than 40 varieties and more than 1000 tons of steel in consultation with the foreign parties, so as to ensure the smooth progress of the project. Due to the well-done Karrara project construction, the company won a reputation overseas, which has opened the international market.

High rise building is one of the high-end products in steel structure industry, but it is the most feared project for welders. Because the welder should complete a large number of welding tasks in a one-meter pipe, the welder may have sweat no matter it is winter or summer and he may be in danger of electric shock. Through repeated researches and experiments, Zhan Hengkui completed the construction method of steel pipe column in high building, which completely solved this problem.
